I do lots of different things, and it can be difficult do summarise that without saying something daft. Essentially, I'm interested in interactions. Whether the project is a web application or a FPS level, my goal is to create something that's a joy to interact with.

natural selection 2
Natural Selection 2 is an immersive, online FPS that pits aliens against humans in a strategic and action-packed struggle for survival.
This is my current level design project. The screenshots shown are from an alpha version of the game, so should not be considered final. Environment artwork and player models by Unknown Worlds.

Natural Selection is a modification for the hit game Half-Life. It uses a sci-fi "marines versus aliens" setting for innovative multiplayer gameplay that blends a first person shooter with real-time strategy elements.
This section features two of my level designs created for Natural Selection. co_halo is set in a mining and research facility, and co_kraken is set in an underwater lab. co_halo was considered for official inclusion with the mod, but did not make it in due to time constraints.

James Ivens
James needed a proffessional-looking site that stood out above other actors' websites. After discussing ideas around a "magazine" aesthetic, we settled on this vintage newspaper style, with a hint of Americana that reflects James' family background.
nulook enterprise
A minimal, understated website designed to reflect the fact that the websites audience is suppliers and architects rather than the general public. Like nuglass, I provided the design, which was then built by their web developer.

Nuglass needed a fresh, clean and modern layout for their new wesbite. I was brought in to produce a design scheme that their web developers could then build into a fully-functioning website.
flood theatre
Flood is a new theatre company that works with satire and episodic comedy. The brief required something simple but dynamic, that focused on making the content clear whilst also suggesting the darker side of the company's work.
flirtfinder
FlirtFinder is one of the fastest growing mobile dating sites in the UK, with thousands of members online. I was required to design and build the frontend for a site that would give the product a web presence and improve SEO and advertising possibilities.
The site was designed to be friendly, upbeat and welcoming, as well as make it as clear as possible what potential members needed to do in order to sign up.

The site design was created to reflect the various different aspect of this Radical Feminist Burlesque act. Vintage flair was combined with touches of "RiotGrrl" aggression to produce a site that presents its content clearly whilst also having plenty of character.
